American Civil Liberties Union, in New York City, a public interest organization devoted to the defense of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, seeks a committed Program Strategist to work in the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and AIDS Project. The Program Strategist reports to the Pro-ject's Public Education Director and works closely with other staff on key areas of the Project's litigation, other advocacy, communication and educa-tion. The Program Strategist will be responsible for identifying people who have experienced discrimination due to their sexual orientation, gender identity or HIV status to aid advocacy efforts. The Door - A Center of Alterna-tives, an organization that provides comprehensive health, legal and coun-seling services to NYC youth seeks an Activity Specialist. The Activity Spe-cialists will be responsible for creating programming targeted to LGBTA Door members. The Activity Specialist will create a community space at The Door for LGBTA young people recruited from the Christopher Street Pier area and West Village neighborhood. Other responsibilities include: development of programming reflective of the interests of LGBTA young people, based on a Leadership model that reflects peer to peer and intergenerational education, and working with other service provid-ers, both internal and external, to cre-ate programming that is dynamic and engaging to the LGBTA population. The AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts seeks a Field Inter-viewer to recruit and conduct inter-views with gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men at pre-determined public events and gath-ering places as part of a national study of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Candi-dates must have a bachelor?s degree, significant work experience with men who have sex with men, knowledge of HIV and AIDS essen-tial. HIV counseling and testing experience, and familiarity and comfort with technology, including hand-held computers.
